How do I find a year on a truck that has the vin# ground off. Any help would be awseme as I got this truck from my grandpa when he died so he never finished it for my 16th B-day.Please help me so I can get the true parts for my truck.Thanks.
Sometimes the VIN will be stamped on the frame somewhere. Usually, in the door jamb, it will have a build date for the vehicle. If you have that information, you can usually contact the manufacturer, and they could probably give you a VIN on the truck with a few hints from other sources on the vehicle. I'd also check your state's DMV. They usually have a listing of manufacturer contacts. I had to do that when I got my car smogged, and it no longer had the original hood on it.
check vin finder or someplace like that. the engine or rear axle should have it too. good luck
