What do you guys think of Toyota topping GM in worldwide sales for Q1 2007? Do you think this is going to be an ongoing trend, or do you think GM will make a comeback?

I think we need to keep things in perspective. GM still leads Toyota in US sales. But no question Toyota's gaining ground there as well. I think GM will make a comeback, but it's got to quit making stupid decisions and being stubborn. Why are they pushing OnStar turn-by-turn nav & cell-phone service when everyone else is offering in-car nav systems & Bluetooth? None of these decisions and actions by themselves are that bad, but when you compound them one on top of another, and your competition is offering what consumers actually want, as opposed to what you're pushing, that's what's gotten them into the situation they're in.

Yeah, it's going to take quite a bit to get the loyalists to turn away from their first love. I'll hand it to Toyota, they packed the Tundra with some impressive hardware, but the new Silverado & Sierra are nothing to sneeze at, either. In terms of the top motor, the Vortec Max isn't that far off the 5.7 iForce, and don't think GM doesn't have something cookin' that'll smoke even that.

I havent drove a Toyota personally, although I have a relative who switched from a Sierra to a Tundra. His advice to me was to get a Sierra, it has a more comfortable interior, and it has more of a classy feel. They Toyotat to him feels like it is lower quality. My new work truck will be here in about a month, then I am getting the Tidy toolbox's and boxliner installed, in a month and a half I'll be rollin in an '07 GMC Sierra.
