I have a 89' chev standard cab w/ 8' bed that is being lowered 4" front and 6" in the back and I need to tow a 20 1/2' Mastercraft skiboat from Indiana to Texas. Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to install a hitch for that boat? Thanks,

If you're planning on doing a roll pan, I know Street Scene offers a roll pan with an opening for a hitch receiver. I'm sure there are others out there as well. You might want to think about getting some sort of load-leveling system installed on the rear, whether it's auxiliary air bags, or a system like this: http://www.activesuspension.com/
Hope this helps.

Yeah, I think that would help, what do you think about installing a hidden hitch using a reverse drop hitch to raise the ball instead of lowering it?

I have seen hitches that actually have a syspension system designed into the hitch to suck up some of the bumps and bouncing from a trek such as yours. I can't recall off the top of my head but im sure i saw it in a Truckin' mag. Other than that the best way is to flip your rieciever upside down and install the ball that way. This way works good i have used it for towing in different oilfied applications. I dont think it would cause any trouble for you hauling your boat.
