Word is out that the '08 Colorado will offer an optional 5.3L V-8 for '08. What do you guys think of this? Does this change your opinion of the Colorado one way or the other?

Well, the Colo definitely needed more power, so it will help. But when I drove one, the chassis felt a little floppy. I hope they beef that up a little with this new motor. Yeah, without a hot motor, there's not a lot to make the Colorado/Canyon a real standout. This should help attract a few new customers.

With the news of Isuzu leaving the country, one of their reasons given was that GM was going to stop making the cars it was rebadging. So I can assume the Colorado is going the way of the dodo-bird. In this era of expensive gas, I don't think this last ditch attempt to drum up sales is going to save the Colorado.

I agree about the chassis, I drove a rental 2wd version and it had lots of chassis flex and an interior that belonged in a 1993 Chevy Cavalier. Not up to GMs current standards.

If you look on the thread I posted on the Denali XT concept, that looks like it could be replacing the Colorado/Canyon in the not-too-distant future. I won't be too sad, I'll tell you that. Those trucks were a pretty weak effort to begin with, IMHO.
