Well, it looks like the truck enthusiasts' worst nightmare came true. How do you think this is going to play out with new trucks introduced in the next few years?

Say hello to the worlds most unpowerful trucks and suvs no matter how hard they try an alternative fuel truck will never be as powerful or as fast as the gas guzzling monsters we have now. Look if i wanted a fuel efficent auto i would have bought a car but no i want overall power. i dont really care if i get 13 miles to the gallon if i have the money for it then its my choice.

Maybe they could just make all the trucks hybrids? The chevy tahoe hybrid gets a significant fuel economy improvement over the normal model.

Until they figure out how to make the hybrids so you don't take a hit in towing or hauling capacity, I think they're going to remain a niche product. That, and the stiff price penalty.
