I want to see some old-school vans with "Mystery Machines" paint schemes posted in rides. If you own one, or have pictures of one, please post!

ALLOT of use early owners don't care for the "Mystery Machine" moniker.......

That being said. Here are some pictures of a very well done 2nd gen chevy that was at the 35th Nationals.....

This was another very well done Early built by a father and son team.........

Wookies right. Most vanners can't stand "Mystery Machines" or as some call them "Scooby Doo" Vans. I personally can't stand them.

I don't mind them, just don't care for the analagies.

I'm sure I will like them even less once my early is done.

Haha, I bet you were wookee. You probably had a big grin on your face the whole time. Since you seem to be getting into the Mystery Machine thing when are you going to paint your early with Scooby and his friends? You already have the windshield thingy. You could start chasing the ghosts of vanners past.LOL

scooby doo was a cartoon
(my opinion is: when fred and the gang broke down they all gathered
around an open HOOD and said geee maybe that old house has a phone we can use..)
early chevys got no hood.. mid fords i say are closer )
but stats seem to be alot of early chevy owners have the notion at least once
to build it into a "mystery machine"
we've seen em ford, chevy,vw and dodge brands of mystery machines
-
the early chevy pictured aboive is a great example of a theme
done well, if ya do a theme scooby or not it should be done to the best you can
this one although am told was hand painted with a brush under 40 coats of clear
had grateful dead posters on the inside walls, and kind of frightening to kids in
traffic i bet on the outside
but it was the owners perspective of "car art" i guess
the first is before this owner had the van and it was called "altered states"
and was recently sold on ebay looking as it did below ,near chigaco

here is one that was sighted in a garage parking lot

here is a later year chevy "shorty" mystery machine

another early chevy 67-70 mystery machine

here is a later model conversion dodge mystery machine

and another chevy

this one is a DODGE !

here is an ASTRO mystery machine

here is a VW mystery machine

here is a ford mystery machine

toyota mystery machine

here is one bad lookin chevy mystery machine

another astro mystery machine

i think that about covers em.. aside from an early dodge i know i've seen
can't digg up the pic yet
it really is... a VAN thing!

I am truly in awe at the creativity inherent with so many of the hard-core van enthusiasts out there. Great photos, great paint jobs. I want to see more interesting van paint jobs, even without the creepy Scooby theme. Show me more!

when imagination becomes reality.. lots of great things happen
scooby is a theme and some like some dislike
but it's a creative expression by those who enjoy expressing their creativity
interested in VANS that are not all scooby'd up?
we got that

www.vintage-vans.com
(is a great place for all "early" model vans and has a great members gallery)
-
www.vcvc.org (is also another great site dedicated to 64-70 chevy vans)
-
http://groups.msn.com/vintagechevyvanclub2
(there are a couple hundred albums of early chevy vans and projects there)
-
www.showtrux.com (a great Vanning website with LOTS of event pics)
-
www.vannin.com (world wide vanning information and amazing people)
-
let me know what you'd like to see next.. we got more
not bad for a sport that has no interest and many thought was extinct huh?
