to be honest i'm a chevy guy...i'm really not even big into trucks...well i wasn't until i bought the truck i've got now...i'm actually a camaro guy myself but as long as its GM i'm a happy man i've got an 04 Regency RST w/ 5 spd. & the 4.8 foose & GM did a hell of a job designing these trucks and it's made me a true believer in GMC plus the 04 GMC looks a hell of a lot better than the 04 silverado

You're not alone. Like I said, I know several guys that have bought GMCs over Chevys just for styling alone.

I am a GMC Guy because GMC trucks look good and the 5.3L engine is awsome. I recently bought a new body style GMC and put a chrome denali grill on it and I see heads turning all the time.

I have also noticed a big difference in the new Chevy Vs. GMC. The Chevy's have bigger and ugly flares on them.

I'm simply just a gm guy through and through. I own both a 2006 gmc sierra swb single cab and and 2007 chevy rst z14. To be completly honest w all of you guys that say " gmc is a notch above chevy" you're fooling yourself. the only difference between the pick-ups (with the exeption of the sierra denali) are the front clips. I own both and i can vouch that they are both identical w the exeption of the front clip. Since when does one big grill vs. a split grill make one better than the other?

Since when does one big grill vs. a split grill make one better than the other??
The answet to that question...Since Mr. Chevrolet or Durant or who ever it was looked at the wall paper in the French bathroom and said "Hey I should put that bow tie on my cars and trucks"
Honestly I think you need to go out and look at your trucks again. I have in my possesion a '94 Chevy 1500 and a '93 GMC 1500. Essentially the same truck according to you. If I wouldn't have changed the engine in the Chevy they would almost be the same. But the GMC looks nicer, and I think is put together better. Just like the Ford and Mercury deal, or Ford and Lincoln, how ever you want to look at it. Chevy is the bottom of the tottem pole, then GMC, and in the SUV Game, then Cadillac. GMC has always been there to constantly one up Chevrolet. Interbrand Rivalry at it's finest. "Look I'm Chevy I have a Split Grill, and a Z71 Package" "Look I'm GMC I have a Massive Chrome Grill with fire red letter across it letting you know who I am, I also have the Denali package and about 8 billion other options, who's your daddy??"
I don't fool myself, only others around me. Chevrolet may be the king in chess, and GMC the queen. But remember the king can only move one space at a time. The queen is always leaps and bounds ahead...Check and Mate. GAME OVER!!

OK Mr. check mate, other than the front ends and excluding the denali, what are some other differences? o yea! that's right there aren't any. Maybe the next comment you leave won't be nearly as retarded as your last one. Maybe you should less time playing chess and more time looking at your trucks. People these days. I tell you

Chevyrst, The newest of the Chevys and GMCs may not be much different, but since the two companys started copying GMCs have tended to be built with a little more quality. Things actually did fit better on the GMCs then the Chevys, things were put together nicer at times engines were better(early years 40s to 60s had bigger six cylinders in GMCs) All you have to do is look, now today the differences are mainly cosmetic but still tend to sway more people towards the GMCs.
By the way chess really is good excersise for the mind. And trust me I've spent plenty of time not just looking at my trucks, but actually working on them. I know my *** if you want to argue go for it. If you want to come sit in my driveway in a lawn chair, kick back and have a beer and try to pick out the differnces in the trucks, your welcome to it. I'll leave the chess set in the closet. Lets stop this before a good thread gets shut down though.

Actually, a buddy of mine has a '60s GMC with the 351 V6. He says he always throws the guys off at the parts places, because whenever he says "351" they instinctively start looking for Ford parts.

Yeah, we have an engine we are rebuilding for a guy, a 60's GMC V12, It's basically just two of the 351's, It's got 4 heads, it's pretty wicked. I believe it's going in a 1962?? GMC Dump Truck. Should be cool.

That's way cool. Another little bit of trivia. I actually rode on a '60s transit bus that had the infamous "ToroFlo" V6 diesel in it! Supposedly it's related to the 351 gasser, and I guess GMC also produced a 478 *** gasser (the same displacement as the ToroFlo) for some of the bigger trucks.
That ol' bus actually ran pretty decent. I was impressed!

It seemed like GM was big on converting gassers to diesels. With the Olds 350 Diesel (yuck) and I think they had a little Buick V6 Diesel. I haven't actually heard of the ToroFlo though. I'll have to check those out.
