ok well im new to this forum. i found a dodge ram 1500 for sale its a 01 sport v8 single cab shortbed its orange with black racing stripes i really like it. i called the guy today and im supposed to look at it tomorrow he is wanting 5000 for it. so i was wondering if this was a good deal and he said when he shifts into drive and stuff the gear will not light up on the dash like when it says what gear it is in. i called a dodge dealership they said probably bad instrument cluster. they wanted 1000 to fix it. i looked at used instrument clusters and found them for like 100. so i was wondrin is it easy to install im not going to be driving this truck for a while so i have time. but im only so mechanically smart. so would i be able to do this? and how hard is it to replace i was thinking about custom guages so i could do that while i have it out. let me know any opinions but im not wanting to spend to much!

It's very simple to change. I work at dodge truck in Warren, Mi. all you have are a few screwws holding the cluster in and simple plugs on the back for every thing to work good luck

If anyone interested -- we purchased an Instrument Cluster for 1998 Dodge Ram Truck ... after I got - it began to work again (probably electrical problem) -- I could not return and thus we still have Instrument Cluster -- it has 53,000 miles on it.
If interested -- please call us at 412-997-2372
We purchased for $175 ... Make offer.
