Why isn't this the new Ford Ranger?

Why are the big three abandoning the mid size truck market for the Toyota Tacoma to gobble up all by itself? This is the interior of Ford's Thailand built Ranger. Labor costs there can't be that much. If they can't figure out a business case for this model, I give up.

Yep, the Asian-market Ranger is pretty sweet. But I guess the dunderheads in Dearborn don't think it would sell here. I'm thinking now is as good a time as ever for it. Guess we'll have to wait & see.

another big hurdle is the 35% chicken tax dont forget. If its not built in N/A, then u gotta pay. the safety, emmissions, etc wud have to conform to N/A standards as well, which would mean redesigns, etc. Looks like the 2010 Euro Ranger will be the 2011 N/A one is rumblings are correct. possibly even a crew????

Yep, it's looking like we may very well get a version of the Asia-Pacific Ranger. Probably with different engines (they're all diesels overseas). It's a very nice-looking and modern truck. I think a crew cab version is a given, considering it seems like most of the new trucks I see now are crew cabs.
