Yep. Unfortunately. I actually have a Boyd Coddington story. A few years ago, I was working for Stillen, a major aftermarket mail-order retailer. Anyway...one of the lines they carried was Boyd Coddington wheels. Stillen also had an in-house customizing service that built custom SUVs. Turns out we were short a wheel, or we needed a different one than what was in stock. One of my many duties there was "gofer" boy. So I was dispatched to go up to Stanton, CA to get a new wheel. On my way there, there was a black Jaguar S-Type in front of me driven by an older guy with a beard. At the time, I had a bright-orange VW GTI with a loud exhaust on it and 18-inch wheels, so I downshifted and blew past him. I thought I was all that. So anyway, I go to the address I was supposed to go to get a new wheel. So as I'm waiting around there. I see the Jag pull into the parking lot, and good ol' Boyd himself came in. I can't remember the exact exchange, but it was something along the lines of "You in some sort of hurry, there?" To which I made some smart-@$$ comment like, "Yep, always on the clock!" or something like that. That's the one and only time I met him. Anyway...thought you guys might enjoy that.
