I recently bought a 91 chevy ext. cab long box, I would like to drop it as low as I can get it and I was wondering which drop would be better to put on it....any got pros and cons of each one? or should I just put the 5/7 and deal with it?
Thanks

Have you got a lowering kit yet?

To be honest an air suspesion is the ticket because you can control how low you want at the show and when you are drivin' it. But no matter what air or lowering kit you put on make sure you get the pinion angle right on the rear end or you will have nothing but misery.

Well, if you're really going to go "all the way" with it with an air suspension, you're going to have to cut your rear frame, and either do a raised bedfloor, or make a sheetmetal hump in your bed. As long as that's a sacrifice you're willing to make, go for it!

5/7 would look good but the air suspension would look even better. You dont have to cut the bed out if you dont want to. You would only need to if you did an over the axle setup which is not the best. It would ride rough too. 4-link it, mount the bags on the 4-link bars with a under the bed notch and roll out!!!!

I am new to the lowering game...been lifting trucks all my life and now I want to go low and slow. Never thought I would say that. I have a 07 NBS Silverado and I am wanting to lower it as low as possible and still be able to stand taking it on long trips (comfort of ride is high priority)also I will be towing a large grill/smoker for football season to football games (500 lbs max) I have ready the article that trucking put out and I like that ride height 5/7 but I am concerned with the ride quality...before anyone says something I realize this is a truck and it is not going to ride like a Cadillac...(though some new trucks I have rode in feel better then the new CTS)any constructive input would be great since I don't have a clue as to where to start.

My other concern is the pinion angle...will i have to readjust with shims to correct ring and pinion after drop?

If you use angled lowering blocks the pinion will be fine
