I have often wondered what it was that got other car and truck enthusiasts into motorized vehicles. So here goes...Why do you love trucks? How long have you loved trucks? Was your first vehicle a truck?
As for me? My first truck was a Toyota. I was seventeen and to me it was like an escape pod from everything going on in my life. My parents would start screaming at each other and I would pop the screen off my bedroom window, get in the truck and go. Usually off to Santa Cruz in Northern California. Sleep on the beach. That is what a truck represents to me. Total freedom.
So why do you love your truck? And if you say because you can see over traffic easier, I am sure you will enjoy the forums at Consumer Reports!

I was really close to owning a little bare-bones Toyota pickup back in the early '90s. Kind of wish I would have still bought one. My folks talked me out of it because they said all my buddies would want me to help them move all the time. They might have been partly right.
At this point, I couldn't see myself driving a truck as a daily driver, but could definitely see having one as a 2nd or 3rd car.

Pickups are like a good pair of jeans (every man needs one). I live in the South East and here you're taught that every man has to have at least one truck. They're extremely practical vehicles to have in normal day to day activities. My family is all about Yotas and GM's so my 1st vehicle was an 87 toyota 4x4 on 38 boggers. Then I got 98 silverado swb with a 5.3, then an 02 silverado z71, then an 06 sierra swb LT which I later traded in on my 07 silverado rst z14.

Truck(s)...The word brings vivid images and memories into my head. What would I be with out my truck?? Well I guess I'd be the kid in the parking lot at school with the lame honda or cavalier. Not the 450+hp pick 'em up truck. I wouldn't be the guy that could drive up in the back field with his girl by his side and then hop in the back and just relax. I'd be the guy that couldn't haul his prized Model A to the paint shop because he spent his money on a Tauras or something. I love my truck, All my dad has driven since I was a little squirt has been trucks. Except for the Caddy to go to church in on sundays (my cutlass does that job for me now)If I didn't have a truck it would be like the kid who didn't have the newest deck of Pokemon cards in the 4th grade, I would be left out in the fun.

I have an '86 Mazda and '99 S10, and my brother has a '93 Yota and '97 Ranger. You can't beat a truck, especially the mini trucks (unless you need to tow.) Trucks are practical, useful, good for puttin' down the tailgate and enjoyin' some sun in the bed. And they look so sick customized. Trucks are pretty much all I know.
