It's being reported that Chevy is considering a turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the base engine in the new Camaro. It would likely be the LNF direct-injected turbocharged motor from the Solstice GXP and new Cobalt SS turbo, with 260 horsepower and 260 lb./ft. of torque. The thought of a four-cylinder anything riles a lot of the faithful.
What do you think this could mean for the future of trucks? Could you see yourself in a four-cylinder Silverado, or even a turbo V6 instead of a V8?

That new Camaro has disaster written all over it. Who is the project leader, Al Gore? Camaros are supposed to be loud, politically incorrect and have a V8. Rentals have V6s. It is pig ugly, the interior has the makings of a disaster (not a normal thing lately for GM so I am surprised) and I have a feeling the Challenger will steal all its thunder. Chrysler is smart releasing the super fast halo model first and then slowly rolling out lesser models. Then they get a few months to gouge the guys who just have to be first on the block.

I believe we are going to see a lot of smaller trucks with tutbo diesel, for the reason that everything is being pushed to get high30 to 40 MPG and the buyers will still want that Muscle eng reaction when driving.Just a guess But I see it peeking around the corner and Im exsited.
85 Toyota Landcruizer repowered with 5.9 Cummins Turbo Diesel 400+ ponys, Banks charge air cooler,P-7100 Inline pump.

Yeah, I'd like to see diesels in smaller trucks, too. I keep reading about that Mahindra truck that's supposed to be coming out soon. Looks interesting. I don't know how many people are going to be willing to spend more than $20k for an Indian truck, though. We'll see.
