I own a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd with a 3.7 V6 & 5 speed manual gearbox. I want to swap the engine out with a V8 5.7 Hemi. would the v6 manual gearbox fit on the v8 5.7 hemi? and What else do I need to accomplish the swap?
thank you for your help.

You might have to sacrifice the stick-shift for the Hemi. In all the 1500s, the Hemi was auto-only. I think a Hemi/manual combo was offered on some of the 2500-3500 models, but not the half-tons.
I think the stick offered with the V6 and the 4.7 V8s doesn't have the torque capacity to handle the Hemi, from what I've heard. I'm not an expert on Mopars, so I couldn't tell you much more than that. Hopefully someone else can give you a little more detail.

That is correct. The 3.7 trans will not handle the horsepower or the torque of the hemi. However, the trans from the 2500 will fit in the 1500, without too much headache. After all, they are the same body.....
