I have a couple questions, I have a '94 Chevy 1500 with a '95 GMC grill shell, my questions are...
#1 Can I put an SS front bumber on with the GMC grill shell?
#2 Does any one make a mesh GMC Grill??
#3 Also what are the negatives of a fiberglass hood, I was looking at the dual scoop 442 style hood for my truck.

If it is the SS looking bumper that is made for the 88-98 Chevy, then yes the bumper will work with the GMC grill shell. As for the mesh grill, there are alot of companies that make all kinds of grills for the GMC grill shell. Just do a search on the internet or check out the companies that advertise in this fine magazine. Someone out there with have what you are looking for. As for the fiberglass hood, it really depends on preferance. There are pros and cons to them as well. The old ones had to pinned down like on race cars but now the newer ones are reenforced with metal so that they can be latched just like the stock hoods. The fiberglass ones are lighter and usually cheaper. There is some more prep time to get them ready for paint. I am no expert, just a guy that tries to read as much as possible. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

On the older fiberglass hoods, the edges actually curled up after a couple of years from the engine temps, ant it did crack the paint. The new ones also require different hood springs, otherwise when you pop the hood, the springs will eventually crack the hood where they attach. hope it helps.

Thanks for the info, the hood I'm looking at though only comes in fiberglass, it's a dual scoop 442 style hood...I can't remember the brand off hand, but it looks pretty wicked. I knew about the curling of fiberglass hoods. My dad has a friend who has an old Cuda AAR, the hood is all curled up on the edges and bowed in the center from heat. But I figured with the way things are nowdays they probably have fixed that.

with the right precautions, a fiberglass hood will look good for a long time. and I think the brand is Keystone, they're known for making quality body kits, so maybe they fixed the problems.
