Does anyone have experience lifting a the new style 07 Silverado? I have an 07 Silverado crew cab Z71 and I am seriously thinking about lifting mine but I wanted to hear some other opinions. Just wondering how it effects the ride and gas mileage and such. Any info would be helpful.

Well, bigger wheels and tires will affect your mileage, performance and braking more than anything. You've got to think of your car or truck as a "system." Anything you do to one part of it is going to affect another. If you're really going to do a lift right, you probably want to re-gear the rear end, and put bigger brakes on it, if you're going significantly larger than stock.
You can probably do about a 6-inch lift without many significant changes, but any bigger than that, you'd probably want to think about re-gearing, and bigger brakes. If you see a big drop-off in power & responsiveness after the lift, then re-gearing is probably your best option. But if you can live with the sacrifice, just leave it be. Hope this helps.

Yeah, you can probably get away with 35s, no problem. Maybe even 37s, but you probably don't want to go much larger than that.

Hi, I have a 2007 silverado. I installed a 6 inch superlift kit. It is a awsome kit. I recommend it to everyone. I work for a GM dealer. I have seen no problems with this kit. The kit is perfect to clear 35's. Looks awsome!!! Fuel milage went down slightly w/35's. Rides the same as stock with BFG at's and superlifts kit... GOOD LUCK!!

I believe the half-tons have the coil-spring fronts on the '07 and newer models. In theory, they should be easier to lift than the old torsion-bar front ends. The 2500s and 3500s still have the torsion front suspension, though.

I have a 2007 sierra 4x4 and I want to put 24 inch wheels and the 315/50/24 nitto terra grapplers on it but I don't know what lift to do. I was looking at the fabtech 7 inch and the bulletproof 8 inch. which one do I go with?
