Okay, is it just me, or is the new '05-'06 Dakota an underpowered dog even with the 4.7 Magnum V-8? That truck is crying out for the Hemi. At the very least, give us a nice, torquey turbodiesel V-6. Problem is, the darned thing is too heavy. A 4x4 Quad Cab is nearly 5,000 lbs. No wonder!

If you think thats bad, try having one with a V6... what a nightmare!

I Also have a 2005 Dekota with the 3.7 V6 and i also agree it sucks. It gets terrible fuel economy. I would love to put a 5.7 in it. Does anyone know if that swap is possible?

I have heard of 5.7 Hemi swaps into the newer Dakotas, but have never seen one with my own eyes. I've heard the new twin-spark H.O. 4.7s are a lot better.
