I own a 2001 GMC Searia 5.3 auto. When driveing at any speed sometimes my speedo, rpm., fuel, oil, gauges go out and overdrive shifts back into drive. I could drive for weeks without any problems, then it happens, I checked all fuses, relay's, harness's, plugs, ect.

its your cluster going bad. if you tap on it a few times it should start working again. but you are going to have to buy a new one soon.

I'm assuming your warranty is up? I don't think the gauge cluster would be covered under warranty. Sounds like it could be a bad electrical connection. I think the later-model GM clusters are 100% electronic.

Thank's for the advise!! Buy fluke I was moving my tilt steering up and down, I noticed my gauges were going on and off, I removed cover from steering column and found when I moved main harness going to ignition switch I could control the problem with gauges and overdrive. I hope this help's anyone that encounters this problem. thank's again!
