I finally have found the time to start my project Truck. It is starting life as a 1994 Chevy 2500 Ext Cab shortbed 2wd. But of course out here in the east you dont see many Caddy conversion Trucks. Well then of course I going the Escalade route using Caddy rear lamps (94-98Deville) and an Escalade clip....It Seems  like the Fabricator never gets enough time do do up his own ride. I bought the truck over a year ago and gathered up everyting I needed so I can just go to town and get it done. The Cool thing that will make the truck stand out is going to be the power sliding moon roof I plan on fabbing in from a 94 Deville.(have the whole roof skin!) Did the measurements it will work but will be tight!!!! I will update the progress with some pics here and there. >(once I figure out how...LOL) If any one has any input I would be glad to hear from ya.
Thanks for reading my post.

Escatruk, so you started with a W/T model? Or was the W/T half-ton only? Can't wait to see how it turns out. With how you're cutting the tailgate, are you going to do the recessed back-up lights from a DeVille?

Sorry it took so long to reply, been away.
I wish I could use the Deville Lamps but measured them and they are waaaay too thick for the gate. I had to custom fit the plate bezel studs from the the 'camino gate. My original plan was to use the rear portion of a 94-98 deville decklid (notice the parts donor behind my truck) but the tape measure dont lie....LOL.

Have you considered using the '89-'93 taillights? They're much narrower, and to me, look more like real "Caddy" taillights. There are several companies that make the buckets to install these.

I know some people think the look is played-out, but I still think it's a classic, timeless look on custom trucks.

Yeah, I dig the look of the long, skinny '89 style lights. It'll always be a classic look on trucks to me.

Sorry guys, already have the 94 to 98 lights welded in, I kinda like that style just for somethin a little different. I am just going to french two nice clear lamps in the roll pan for reverse lights.
I had some extra solenoids layin round the shop and  made the tailgate handle work both manually and with power it worked out pretty good!

Yeah, the '94-'98 lamps work too. Just a little bit of a different look. Definitely looks like you're well on your way! Keep us posted.
