I installed a Magnuson supercharger on a 4.8L tahoe and it ran great. It looked factory when done and drove perfect. I would recomend this supercharger to anyone. Everything needed came n the kit and the instructions where very good. It took about 8 hours to do. Makes a good weekend project

Yeah, I've been impressed with the trucks I've driven that had a Magnacharger on them. Great throttle response, and straightforward installation.

Really? I've done a little research and a lot of gmc/chevy truck owners needed to swap different trannys and get new gears..

If it's just your basic off-the-shelf Magnacharger, you should be fine with the stock tranny. If it doesn't already have one, I'd definitely consider installing a trans cooler, though, as the added power going through the trans is definitely going to produce more heat.
