Just wondering if anyone knows any internet site i could visit to see whats legal or not for smog checks etc. also if a ls2 vette engine would be able to fit into my 1999 gmc sierra.

What year is the engine? If it's newer than the truck it's going into, you should be fine, as long as you keep the cats and all the emissions stuff on it.

2007 Corvette -- the Gen IV 6.0-liter LS2.. i found the engine on jegs.com..

Yeah, shouldn't be a problem at all. In theory, should be a pretty straightforward swap.
