I have replaced everything in the distributor and the cap and rotor button and the coil pack.I still never get power to the plugs. The timing is set TDC on number 1 plug.Everything I've done says it should crank... Could the computer behind the glove box be my problem? I've been on this truck now for 5 days and I'm getting tired of it now.lol

Thanks for any help,
T.Bone

EDIT: Just found out the thing I found behind the glove box was the electronic spark control module. So I guess this may be my problem...

Your coil is located on top of your distributor cap right?

I would think that behind your glove box is your Engine Control Computer. Your ignition control module should be found in your distributor.

The key is to trace down where you are loosing your voltage.

Are you getting power to your coil?
(I've seen those HEI type distributors have trouble with the electrical connection at the cap) Play with that connection and maybe try some dielectric grease on it.

If you have not replaced your control module...it can be checked after its removed. You can take it up to Advance, (and if they know what they are doing) they have the machine to check them.

You say you replaced everything inside the distributor AND the other stuff...what all did you replace inside the distributor?

I replaced the coil pack/distributor cap/rotor button/control module/pick up coil/spark plugs/wires/battery/starter... the only thing I haven't changed is the condenser(HEI Distributor capacitor http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/08/5d/25/0900823d80085d25/repairInfoPages.htm )I thought this was just for radio noise. But I'm not sure. No inline fuses blown or in fuse panel inside truck. Timing is set top dead center on #1 spark plug. No fire to plugs at all.7 days of checking and rechecking the timing and all the new parts. The rotor button turns when trying to start so the timing chain is fine. When it all started I had just drove the truck.Parked for a week and when I tried to crank it nothing but just dead turn over.

EDIT: Yesterday I got the condenser wiring harness and took everything out and started over.Reset the timing and checked connections in all the wires that have inline fuses.Check the engines grounds also.Took off the dash cover and checked for bad wiring.Still no fire to plugs at all...
