I had a check engine light come on about 6 months ago.  Checked it with local parts store and changed the egr valve as result.  Have had some vacuum lines from the egr valve popping off since.  Fixed them.  Still having rough starting cold, poor idle and crappy ecceleration.  Gave it a tune up (90K) new air filter, gas filter, plugs, wires, blah, blah.   Need help with what could still be wrong even though I'm having no error codes??????  

Model year? Engine? Any additional information would help.

2001 F-150 5.4l V8 95k miles, rough starting until warm ed up then sluggish acceleraton with a hesistaion.   Rough idle with a surging rpm's.  Let me know if this information helps.   Thanks.  

You need to have it put on a scanner and check the Idle Air Control Valve to see if it's within range.
