Help needed on replacing lower balljoint on 93 HB 4x4

Can anyone provide tips for installing the new lower ball joint into the lower steering knuckle? There's not enough room to get it started, as it hits the CV axle to the front hub.  I've seen that you have to remove the hub, yet this does not seem that it will not allow the axle to move enough to insert the ball joint.  Any assistance or tips are appreciated, as I have the get the truck on the road again before Monday to get to work. Thanks.
