Question regarding installing new gears.

So I am going to get new gears in the 1997 Dakota and I just thought of a question. How do I update the Speedometer? I know on 1998 models you can do it electronically, but how do I do it for 1997?

I believe there's a little output gear on the transmission you can change out that should correct your speedometer reading. Sorry I don't have any more info. Anyone else have any suggestions?
