I have a 2din 06 gm stock am/fm/cd radio and i want to put it in my 95 chevy 1500 but its a 1din. does anybody know if this has been done or even possible?? any comments or suggestion are welcomed. thanks

Depends on how much you want to tear up your dashboard. Chances are, it'll require some pretty major surgery regardless. Personally, I don't think it would be worth the trouble. I'd get a nice aftermarket single-DIN unit. If you're talking about the old "box" style dashboards on the 1988-1994 models, I don't even think they're really anything, they're a proprietary GM size. Even the later rounder-style dashes from 1995 to 1998 are like 1.5 DIN.

Basically, the short answer to your question is I'm pretty sure the unit won't swap right in. If you're going to tear up the whole dash and do a custom fiberglass enclosure, then go for it, but if you're going to go that far, I'd go with a custom installation and an aftermarket unit.
