Hi everyone. I bought a 1981 Jeep Scrambler with a 350
"I think" in it. It runs great but I need to buy a power steering pump and I don't know much about Chevys. So I need some help in figuring out what year the engine in. I looked at some web sites and some engines have numbers on the Passenger side in front of the head. Mine doesn't have them. On the driver side of the block in the number" 57 lg 80 t". It looks like an older engine to me. The heads are offset, It's carburated, and looks like one a friend of mine had in a truck in the 80's. If anyone knows where the numbers are or if these are the numbers, and where to go to get the year and other info, please let me know Thanks

I also found a number on the back of the block L229 I
think, going by what I found on another web site, It's a date code. Dec. 22, 1969.
