2009 Detroit Autorama, 6 custom vans representing

This year custom vans are going back to Detroit in a big way. We will have 6 vans in Autorama in a club display representing custom van clubs and councils from 2 countries and 4 states. The vans we have going are among the finest in the land all having won a "best of" award at a National Truck-In from Best of Show, to best paint, best engine, best engineered ... and 4 of the vans have appeared in national magazines including Truckin' and in the case of Flying Eagle II it has been featured on the cover of a number of magazines as well as being in ads for a tire company.
Custom van owners are getting their vans out to the public in a big way this year already having shown in Pittsburgh, Grand Rapids and upcoming in Kansas.

Maybe we should have a petition there to get people to sign to get owner built custom vans back into Truckin', lol.

I really appreciate the enthusiasm of the custom van community on the Truckin' forums. If the editors think there's enough demand, who knows, you might see vans make a big comeback in the magazine!

The vans were a big hit among the Autorama attendees this past weekend. There were 6 vans in our display and a rat rod Econo downstairs.
It's funny how everyone is trying to break the same news. Jalopnik.com posted this on their website with full coverage of the vans in the show "You heard it here first, Vannin' is on the way back."
