GM Bankruptcy: What will it mean to Trucks?

Well, it's official. GM filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy today, July 1, 2009. Although CEO Fritz Henderson is putting the most positive spin on things as possible, there's no question there's a lot of pain ahead.

But as truck enthusiasts, what does this mean to our hobby and industry? Certainly, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra will continue to be manufactured, as they're some of the company's best-selling models. But with the government such a large stakeholder, many are predicting the current administration and its automotive task force will use that position to influence product planning decisions, namely development of smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles.

What do you think the next 18-24 months are going to look like for GM?
