I was wondering what brand of paint is the best to use on my 94 silverado. It needs a repainting and I am wanting to change colors to a blue. I am leaning toward an electric blue. I kind of like the blue on the 2007 Dodge ram, and similar shades I have seen on the FIT car and on the RX8. Does anyone know where I can get a catalog of blue colors and brands in that type of color? As well, if anyone knows where a great paint shop in Las Vegas is I would appreciate it. My last place did a horrible paint match on my OEM color.

i like DuPont products.  They make some great paint.  It depends on how much cash you want to spend.

Thanks for the reply. Cash is not going to be an issue. I just want it done right and with quality paint. Just trying to get some feedback from guys out there in what they like and don't like before I commit to one paint.

What do you guys think of House of Kolor? I think they're owned by Valspar now.

I think House Of Kolor is a great paint. That is about as custom as you are going to get in my opinion, as you can create a one time color that is different from any oem paintjob out there.Pay a little bit more from what I have heard from people who have usd it. Need a shop that paints with it as well as they say it applies differently somehow?? Not sure how that is but thats what I have heard. With that said though, would you want that paint job on an every day drive vehicle? If you ever needed a touchup, would you be paying more because the shop would have to mix your custom paint instead of having something already premade? What do you guys think?

Thanks for writing in. I guess I am now leaning towards Dupont paint. My friend has a buddy with a paint shop and they seemed pretty clean and professional. Dupont is there paint so I hope you are right as I want this to be my last paint job. $3500 for the paint and one small body work to go with my factory color repaint, about a grand more to go with the blue I was wanting which I am now leery about doing because of all that interior trim coming off and maybe needing to be replaced should the serts break. That and I am so picky that if it is not put back to original it will drive me crazy. Yes, I am a little OCD, but that is why my truck is still looking good and running strong.
