I have brake light issue in which they don't work at all 50% of the time just the right one works and 25% of the time the left one works. I have bypassed the switch checked all the wiring to and from the fuse box and could find no fault. All the signal & flashers work fine, is it possible that the problem could be in the the steering column.

I have the same issue. I by-passed the brake pedal switch, where I have power, joined the wires together, and still no brake lights. It's a 1968 Chevy 90. I'm an electrician by trade and I am stumped. The tail lights work and the turn signals work. It has to have something to do with which filament in the bulb that the brake lights use. Besides that, the body shop where I just had it painted (since Aug. 08) lost the cargo door handles on the side door. Try finding a set of those!

sounds like a column problem to me... somewhere in there it may not be grounding correctly...
