Need some opinions...

Ok so I'm new to the whole truck customization thing and I would like to hear some of your opinions on this.... I want to lift my truck ( I have a 2004 f150 supercrew) but its 2wd and Ive heard youre not really supposed to lift a 2wd truck.  And anyways Ive been looking at getting a new truck.  

My first question is what kind of truck do you guys suggest lifting?  Keep in mind, I dont have a ton of money to throw into this.  Im trying to stay under 15 grand on a used truck.  My second question is what kind of lift should I get put on?  I want to make sure I make it worth getting lifted so I want to put some decent height on it.  What type/specs, should I look for (again keeping in mind that I want to spend the least amount that I can while still getting a good product).  I dont go offroading except for rarely so I dont think I need something really special.  Ive been leaning towards some sort of suspension lift just because I dont like how with a body lift you can still see the frame way below the body of the truck.  What do you think?  All opinions are welcome!!

well in my opinion i would say drag that *** but since you seem to be into the whole lifting things i would say go with the same year and style of your current truck just find one with 4wd or you could go to a salvage yard and convert it your self, if its possible but i can tell you from experiance that cheaper is not always better and eventhough you find stuff for cheap, read the reviews, look at ebay, and reserch the kits you find and if you need to, save up money for the expensive things. Make sure you have everything befor you start putting it on. best of luck to you and ill tell you this, if you want better gas milage lower it. but what ever you decide to do, its your truck and do what you want find your own ideas and make it truely custom from your imagination dont let people influece you, the best part of building a truck is that you are the creator just let your ideas and creativity run wild and you'll get mad at it and then love it but when its done you'll be glad to know that what your looking at, is your master piece.  

i have a 02 f-150. i recently lifted my truck. i had installed a 3 inch spindle kit.
i think u can install a lift kit. just not too tall. if its not a 4x4. truck runs good wastes a little more gas.as far as a lift kit, i used a fab tech.hope i could have help.
