Oh I so hope Truckin Mag will be there. And by the way, Van Nationals are not only attended by Americans & Canadians, there's also people from England & Norway. I know there are other coutries that attend, I'm just trying to give an example.

Had the final clean up weekend this past weekend and I must say the place looks GREAT!!! PERFECT place for taking pictures <HINT HINT> as with all the rain we had in June, PA is the greenest I have seen it in a long time!!! Also with such a wet June we should have a nice hot DRY July for the Nats! Are we gonna see Truckin' Mag there? I know for sure there will be a East Coast mag there be nice to have a national mag represent as well!

I'm psyched! I can't wait to be there. Hopefully Bob Ryder will make it. Would love to see some coverage of the biggest eVANt of the year in Truckin in the future!

Bummer that no one from Truckin will be attending the Nats. Major disappointment. I heard they will be publishing some coverage of Vanfest, sure hope so. I have tried to get Bob and Dan to come to Route 66 Rendezvous several times this year but never got an answer from either one. That is a shame because there will be a ton of very nice show trucks there as always and it is only an hours drive from Anaheim. Hey Ed if you are reading this maybe you can come back and do something for the website like you did a couple of years ago. If so stop by and say hi. We will be at the same spot as the last time you were there.

T%he Nats were Vantastic. Over 525 vans through the gate, 150+ in the show. We had vans from all over the U.S there as well as a good number from Canada.
I took 2000 pictures and spoke to both Dan and Bob on Tuesday about sending them the best for possible use in the magazine. I'm hoping for the best.
Moon Lite and Performance Inc did a phenomal job hosting the Nationals and special thanks to Snotty for the special photo ops !

The Nationals are history, another one in the books! Great turnout, and perfect weather. The hosts did a great job of filling our days and nights with things to do and see. The van show was huge, I think the largest since the early 90s, with over 150 in the field. Judging was tough, but the crew did a great job, and most everyone went home happy. When you guys see the pictures, I hope you decide to cover this event. We understand date conflicts-there are not enough weekends in the year! Looking forward to issue #10 to see who is in there!

I was dissapointed when I heard it thru the grapevine that the editors from Truckin asked others to take pics for them as they couldnt make it... O well *** happens... they WILL be recieving a GOOD bunch of pics from there and they can feel almost like they were there... Here are the pics I took when I had a chance to take pics, being one of the host clubs I was quite busy however always had a camera on me just in case... I didnt get ANY of the show as I had to deal with a little glitch with the ice truck at the time...
ok here goes... Non eVANt eVANt thru the gate and Monday at Hooters

Wednesdays opening ceremonies!
Long Trout Winery Trip Wednesday!
Wed nights stage games!

On Friday night a bunch of the Vanners in Cyberspace got together with Gary's Alpine Express that was recently featured in Truckin' to thank Dan Ward and Bob Ryder. As you can see from the picture the vanners at this event are not just old guys but we are fortunately bringing in some younger people as well as keeping the second and third generation kids that grew up in vanning interested in vans. Having continued coverage of vans in Truckin' will help keep up the interest.

My pictures will be headed to Truckin' today. I hope they can be used to do a spread on the 37th National Truck-In and maybe encourage Truckin' to be at the 38th Nationals in Greenwich New York in July 2009.

What a great event. Weather was great! ... well almost... The show was awesome, saw a few vans I had never seen before!
What is cool is that I saw Coop's chopped Astro that first got me interested in vans... guess where I saw it? Truckin' in 1994! I'm not sure if Coop was flattered when I mentionned it to him but it sure was a treat for me!
First outing with my van too... 8hr drive alone and all went well. The bed was comfy too and I enjoyed that "Hungry-man" tv-diner that I warmed in my micro-wave during the storm. Vans... custom and practical! The perfect Truck!

There was so much to do during the Nats the only way to get a glimpse of it all is through the eyes of a dozen or more vanners who took photos there. Here is a link to all of them: 2009 Nationals photo links Hopefully we will see some coverage in Truckin' down the line.
