I got a big problem with my Ford Econoline 1963. (in Norway)
I bought the van 2 years ago.
In Norway we have EU controll on the cars, every second year.
My Ford E 63, have been approved every year before.
Original was it deliver with the 144 engine, but in 1966 was the van sold from Ford Norway to a bank in Norway (DNC) the vab was rebuilt to a panser car for transport of large sums from stores to banks. The van was very heavy of course. Because of that it was set in a bigger engine a 289 from a Ford Mustang. (I got that information from a earlier owner) When they did that, they did not correct it in the title for the car. So now 43 years later I got a huge problem because they will not approve my dear Ford Econoline 1963. (Norway`s oldest registed american van)
Yesterday I had several meeting with different people / companies about the problem, to try to find a solution on the problem.
The issue is that those who shall approve it, need information about if the brakes and the front-wheel suspension can tolerate the extra power the 289 engine gives compare with the 144, 170 or 240....and also the weight of the 144 / 170 / 240 engine compare with the 289 engine...
I will be very happy if anyone can help me out with this huge problem.....
Thanks so much in advance...
