Dan...I'm not taking credit for anything in the magazine, but I'm certainly going to take credit for online. And that's where the ball got rolling with the van guys. I'll give you credit for realizing you had a lot of guys that were loyal readers back in the day and bringing them back on board. But I was in touch with them for a while before they got very much love in the mag. Mike can back me up on this.

No offense...just a point of clarification.

Just got back fro the Route 66 Rendezvous in San Bernardino. If you don't come check out the awesome trucks, panels and vans you are doing yourselves a disservice. I am talking super nice woodies, panels from the 40s and 50s and vans including VW 21 window vans.  Tomorrow is the biggest day for the Route.Starts at 9AM and ends at 10PM then finishes off Sunday. The top customs from California and several other states are there. Car Craft was there today as well as many other reporters including several TV stations and radio stations. You could fill several issues with all the nice rides there. Come on down, join us at 2nd and "D" streets. Lots of cold beer and other beverages.

It was great to see Ed Sanchez at the Route 66 Rendezvous yesterday. It was a great three day party. Got to try out my new gas powered blender and made a few gallons of margaritas.

Thanks for taking the time to respond Dan. The dyno, 1/4 mile and other upgrades you talked about sound great. I'm sure its not in the budget to get a set of brembo brakes and compare them to other rotors or even different pads. I just thought a trusted source to compare the typical bolt ons would help a lot. I believe you when you say you have told many companies to take their stuff back... you told me your real thoughts on that bed weight you stuck in the back of your truck.

I cant wait to see your ram. I'm sure you have run into the same problem i am having by not finding many new parts for these beautiful trucks.

I am currently in the works of getting my truck flamed. Steve Vandemon is going to put some flames down the sides of my truck and hot rod pin striping on the hood and tailgate. I have also ordered street scene black inserts and we are going to paint the outer grille shell to match the truck while leaving the center crosshair chrome.

here is a photoshop of the grille and an outline of the flames we will be doing... hopefully it all gets completed around Oct 1st

thanks again for replying and i hope to see you at more local shows over the next few years.

the new grille

and the flame outline... it will be filled in with red flames with orange boundries.. (sorry for cell phone pics)

Nice Ram. Just my opinion but it looks better without those flames. They really take away from the sleek smooth look.

Very nice Ram.  Or is it a Dodge?  I'm refering to Ed's blog about the new Ram line of vehicles of course.  In all seriousness though, your truck looks great and I can't wait to see some pics of the finished project.  Keep it up.
