Hey guys new to the forum and have a few questions. I bought my 80 C10 as my first vehicle 18 years ago. Well I still have her today but I have been neglecting her for the past 4 years. I did a semi restore about 10 years ago and now I am getting ready to finish what I started and make her a daily driver again. I have a 650h.p. 350, turbo 350, and posi 3.73 in rear. I am thinking about a fuel injected LS from the Z06 with the turbo 350. So I am wondering if there are a lot of mods to do other than changing the fuel tank, fuel lines, run wiring for fuel injection, and install computer. I want a good everyday truck with the benefit of fuel injection and I am thinking this may be a good combo. All input is much appreciated.

I imagine it's doable. Keep in mind the LS7 (Z06 engine) is very expensive new. Plus, out-of-the-box, it's going to have less power that you currently have. In terms of transmission compatability, you should be able to hook up a 350, since the engine originally came with a manual transmission. From what I've heard, the biggest issue I've heard with engine swaps is getting the gauges to work, strangely enough. You might have to swap in a Vette gauge cluster to get things to work. Not sure.

If you are seriously going to make this a daily driver I would buy a nice 350 from GM Performance Parts, with around 350H.P. 650 is a little bit excessive for a daily driver.
