hey, i have a 1996 Chevy S-10 truck. it has a 4.3L V6 engine that i am going to rebuild. is there any books i can get that deal strictly with this engine on how to take apart, fix, and reinstall. i live in Anchorage, Alaska and have been to every book shop in town. i also went to Schucks and Nappa and still can't find a book. I have a Hanes book about my truck, but am having a hard time with it because it's written with the assumption that the reader has a basic mechanical knowledge witch i don't. i don't know squat, but I'm willing to learn...that's why i need the book. can anybody help me??

Other than the Haynes Manual you have I'm not sure. I guess google it.

The 4.3 V6 is basically a 350 small-block with two cylinders hacked off. A lot (but not all) of the stuff that applies to the small block also applies to the 4.3. Haynes, Chilton books are a good place to start.

thanks for the input...yesterday i got it broke down to the pistons ....with A LOT of help from the guys at the auto craft shop...i took lots of pictures as i was breaking it down...on of the pictures (not sure how to load on here) was of where you put the oil in...the top said V6 Vortec...would that help me find a book more geared (no pun intended) toward my truck's engine?
