94 Nissan Hardbody fuel pump problems

I have a 1994 nissan hardbody with airbags. I changed the fuel tank and installed and new fuel cell. The fuel pump is an external but I am having problems with it. The fuel pump is causing the truck to want to turn off when I step on the gas.

Any ideas why it is doing that or what can i do?
