Turbo on a Ranger?

i have a 1997 ford ranger 2wd 2.3 four cylinder. i need more power. are there turbos out there that i can put on it. im buying a cold air but i want to know if there is a turbo cuz if so i will buy that first.

I think the '97 was still the old Ford 2-valve, vs. the new Mazda 4-valve. That engine was actually the basis of the engine in the Mustang SVO and Merkur XR4Ti in the '80s. If you're really serious about getting power out of it, you might want to open it up and put some upgraded rods & pistons in it, but it could probably take about 5-7 psi stock. Anyone got any tips for him?

This is definitely a great thought to put turbos for your ford ranger..this will definitely increase power by a huge margin... Wink
