So I wanna start to sand my truck down so i can hopefully have it painted FLAT BROWN by july. I dont have any idea how deep to sand it or wat grit I should use. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you planning on doing the final paint job yourself? If not you may be able to have the entire job done by the shop that is painting it.

yeah imma do all the bodywork and painting myself...I just want to be able to tell people that I did it myself...

Pride is a big factor. I can understand that. However to really get a great paintjob you will need an extensive amount of equipment and a facility to do it in. Nevermind the experience necessary for a job like that. How much are you looking to spend? Have any pictures of the truck?

Pete is right. It takes some talent to be able to pick up a spray gun and lay down a nice clean paint job. That's not to mention doing body work properly. If this is a firsttime learn as you go project that you don't have a lot of worries about the finished project, then go for it. If you want to have a show stunner, I would personally look into getting some experienced help. Good luck and post some pics.

I have a friend that does body work and paint so me and him are gonna do everything... hes gonna teach me how to do it and correctly...and i just started sanding the body so i'll post pics as soon as possible... thx for the advice guys
