I've got a 93 GMC Sierra and I've been looking at a K&N cold air intake. It's expensive so I'd like to have an idea of what gains it brings in horsepower, torque, and especially gas mileage as I'm starting college this fall which adds up to a lot of driving.
And the fourth rider came upon a PALE HORSE and his name was death, and hell followed him.

I too have been looking at them for my 99. It is a great first item to buy but I can't seem to decide which one. K&N has several out there for your truck and mine. How do you know which model is the best one to buy?

K&N 57-3026 is the one I've looked at.I just went ot O'reilly's and asked for a price quote. Here's a link for it at summitracing.com: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/KNN-57-3026/ But I did read an advertisement for Banks who claim to be superior with higher intake density. I looked over it and it makes sense, but I can't make a call either way. I know they used Banks on the Project Novokane build, but every other ride used K&N. Plus everyone I talk to recommends K&N. I hold a higher opinion of K&N, but I'm like everyone else, I'm looking for the best value, but also for the best gains, especially in efficiency.

I will check out the link you sent. Thanks. My guess is that most are all about the same. Its just a matter of which one catches your eye the most.

Yeah. I think the K&N looks better, but I'd rather have performance slighly above looks. Know what I mean? Have you posted your ride? I'm working on uploading photos of mine. All the pictures I had were too large to upload. Do you know how to upload them to the forums section?
