Got a 1989 dakota with a 3.9v6. can i swap it with a 5.9l v8

I believe the '89 models were before the mid-cycle refresh. On the pre-refresh models, the V8 is a tight squeeze. The Shelby Dakota had to utilize an electric fan in order to fit the 318 V8. So, it's possible, but it's not a straight swap.
