I looked up reviews for a lot of &N's cold air intake kits and a lot of people are claiming that they do not perform as K&N claims due to (not totally sure of validity to any of these) 1. smaller filters=bigger holes=less filtration, 2. the stock air filter already can provide more air than the engine needs, 3. the engine may or may not be able to accept the new airflow rate, and on and on. However, K&N claims that their dynometer is more advanced than most shop dynos and they test their filters and kits extensively to produce the best product. The reason I ask is because I am considering a cold air intake for my truck fairly soon (finances willing) and I'm getting mixed results since there are a lot of negative feedback rivaled by the fact that a lot of custom trucks I see/ read about use a K&N filter or CAI. So I wanted to get some feedback from the people that use them- hype? truth? what?
