Hello once again lovers of all things Truckin'

My name's Matt Ochoa and I'm about to start work on a 2005 GMC Canyon that I've shown here before.

Quickshift Sml Copy

The exterior is receiving a plethora of parts form a factory Colorado Xtreme and an SS style front air dam. The hood is carbon fiber with painted edges adn the roof is recieving a one-off carbon fiber insert/panel that fits between the factory rain gutters. A Leer tonneau cover will be given a layer of carbon fiber and painted over much like the hood. I'm still debating on doing some sort of carbon graphic.

The engine is going to recieve some boost by way of a turbo charger (currently talking to STS on a remote setup) and should make a little over 300whp when finished. The trans mission is receiving billet servos and the rear end will be beefed up as well.

The suspension is going to utilize QA1 coilovers in the front (with help from Sinsity Kustomz) and the rear will use billet blocks and QA1 shocks. Belltech sway bars will keep body roll to a minimum, while Wilwood brakes keep things safe. Wheels are 20" Bonspeed Malibu 6's that will be clear coated so we don't have to spend a ton of time polishing them.

The interior already has a state of the art Hertz/Audison sound system with nearly 1700watts of power, 2 12" subs, and a custom ported box. The door panels are going to be swapped and Hertz Mille components with 'Add-a-Woofer' option will take over on the mids/highs. I'm are also looking at an iPad to take over source unit duties.

I'm currently working with Sinsity Kustomz (billet parts), HiLeds.com (Everything LED, also does water transfer and laser etching), and Auto Radio Stereo in Sacramento (interior and stereo) to make this project something special and inspiring for the community.

Hope you guys like what you see and I'm looking forward to showing you more. I'm going to get started on the turbo setup as soon as possible to get that out of the way, then start on the exterior, then suspension, then finish the interior (again).

-Matt

Getting some work done with the STS turbo system.

All told we should be done by Nov. 1st and then I'm starting on the suspension side of things. I'm now looking into Dallas Hot Rod Parts for an articulating 2link and adapting it for my needs (planting 300+rwhp).

Well I forgot to update this little thread on the truck.

We eventually finished hte install, but not until after spending a great deal of time at the dyno shop fixing everything that the original tuner screwed up. It was a nightmare for a while, but the truck is back on the streets with a couple thousand miles under its belt since the install.  The guys at Motor Machine Super Shop in Carmichael, CA handled the tune and worked their butts off. All is well now and we ended up making 335hp and 340lbs/tq at the crank. We're going to up the boost and change the tune to get the truck to 400+hp by the time summer rolls around.

I'm also designing a custom 2-link rear suspension with coilovers to help plant the power. I wanted to try and get it into the Throwdown Challenge this year, but I'm not sure if the truck is exactly what the editors are looking for. If I could get in, it'd be a freakin dream come true and make all the grief my friends and I went through worth it.

I have some videos on youtube showing the truck doing it's thing. YouTube Channel

And a few more pictures for you guys;
