the clutch pedal would not fully release the clutch.. the owner reported a noise like a spring breaking.. then a spongy clutch pedal..this is what i found ...and yes.. the steering column and a bunch of the dashboard had to come out.. as did the clutch slave cylinder and the power brake booster mounting nuts..i did not loosen any brake or clutch hydraulic lines.. there is enough room to move them out of the way.now.. for some reason .. my local toyota dealer has this part in stock.. except he wanted over 200 bucks for it.. i took it over to a local welding shop as i don't currently have a welder set up. this made the clutch pedal feel firmer than ever before..
